Whimsical – 1st Gr.3 Lawnmaster Eulogy Stakes
Whimsical ran a superb race in the Gr.3 Manawatu Racing Club Lawnmaster Eulogy Stakes on Saturday to come home with her first black type win on just her third start. Taking the lead with 150m to run Whimsical came away winning by three quarters of a length after what was a great battle down the straight with Love For All.
The stunning Savabeel filly is raced by JML Bloodstock and Dame Lowell Goddard. She is now the 10th black type Savabeel filly to have run
in JML Bloodstock’s, Lib Petagna’s colours. Whimsical was purchased from the 2019 NZB Yearling Sale out of Little Avondale’s draft. Out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Chanel’s Choice who is a half-sister to the Coolmore Classic Gr.1 winning Steps In Time.
Whimsical will now have a well deserved break before carrying on her campaign in which will hopefully lead her through to the Australian Oaks.
Bruce Perry Bloodstock also had an exciting Sunday evening with Rattan running 3rd in the Gr.1 HKJC Longines Hong Kong Sprint. The Savabeel gelding who was purchased at the 2015 NZB Yearling Sale for Mr Wong has now won over NZ$3.8million.
